Uganda Premier League title could go to the wire

The Uganda Premier League title seems to be going to the wire, with four games to its end.

Going into the 26th game, Kitara FC calmly sat on the table summit, with defending champions Vipers in second position, level on points with BUL.

However, the loss by Vipers to BUL in one of the two test matches for Namboole stadium saw the Jinja based side leapfrog Vipers.

Currently, BUL FC are top of the league on 49 points, one ahead of second placed Kitara FC, both on 26 games.

In third place is Vipers, on 46 points, one above record champions SC Villa who are fourth, both on 25 games.

Newcomers, NEC FC are fifth on 43 points, one above sixth placed KCCA FC.

With this promising to be the best league in years, all the teams up to 8th placed URA FC on 35 points still have a chance to win the title with five or four games left to the end of the season.
