Uganda’s Israella Chris wins UK’s The Voice Kids singing competition
Fourteen-year-old Israella Chris, a daughter to Ugandan gospel singer, Myco Chris has won The Voice Kids, a singing competition in the UK.
The competition showcases vocal talents of youth in their teenage years.
Uganda’s Israella was announced winner by host, Emma Willis after impressing judges.
In her acceptance speech, Israella thanked the organizers for believing in her.
“Thank you all so much for believing in me and I really hope I made you proud,” she said.
“I wanna thank these guys over here,” she added, addressing her fellow finalists.
“You guys brought the fire this year.”
In her 10th year of school where she is studying extra sciences, Israella says she wants to be a medical doctor to help treat people, but singing is her first passion.
She has already been interviewed and featured on the BBC, National Geographic, Daily Mail, The Sun, The Standard, Metro and MSN among other international media houses.
