Premier League 2023/2024: Youth reveal areas their clubs should strengthen ahead of kick off
The European transfer season is on and so far there have been a number of interesting moves. Local fans of various clubs would want to see their clubs strengthen in certain areas. Youth Blitz sought the views of some of the fans in regards to the signings their teams should make ahead of the league kick off in August.
Adam Musinguzi, 22, Arsenal
Since we shall be playing in the Champions League, we need a deeper squad than the one we had last season. So far we have bought Havertz from Chelsea and I think he is a good signing. Let me hope that Declan Rice will join us. That will strengthen our midfield. We need to buy a good defender and someone to cover for Saka.
Paulson Musoke, 19, Arsenal
We need some good defenders because right now I think our problem is defence. When Saliba got injured you saw how we struggled defensively. I am happy about Declan Rice because he will improve our midfield. Other areas are okay.
Clifford Asiimwe, 27, Chelsea
Last season we bought so many expensive players who did not perform well. Raheem Sterling is one of them so we need to offload him. Aubameyang is another. Chelsea’s problem is failing to find a first 11 because we have the players. I know we have lost some like Ngolo Kante, Loftus Cheek, Mount and Havertz but we have some good young players coming through.
Rita Nasejje, 23, Manchester United
Manchester United needs an overhaul, the entire team. The defence is weak and when you look at the midfield, apart from Bruno Fernades and Casemiro, we don’t have other good midfielders. Fred is off form. Striking line is also shaky so we need a good striker.
Ramlah Nakabuye, 21, Manchester United
We have so far bought Mason Mount from Chelsea but we still need to strengthen our striking line. Rashford was our only performer upfront last season. We also need to find a good goalkeeper to replace David de Gea whose form has gone down. Generally speaking we need to improve in all areas if we are to compete with Manchester City.
Ssalongo Musisi, 33, Liverpool
I am happy with some of the signings so far but we need to sign some good defenders. Van Dijk has become old and we need a cover for him. We have strengthened the midfield and our striking line is good. If Nunez finds his form next season, Liverpool will be unstoppable. The good thing is that many of our players have been together for some time so our team next season will remain strong.
