BUL beat URA FC to bask in FUFA Super 8 glory

BUL FC prolonged tax collectors, URA FC’s ten year wait for any silverware when they beat them 3-1 in penalties to win the FUFA Super 8 tournament.

In the finals played at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo, Uganda Cranes goalkeeper, Joel Mutakubwa was the hero of the day as he saved three spot kicks and scored one of his own to hand the Jinja-based side their maiden Super 8 trophy.

The goalkeeper denied captain Hudu Mulikyi, midfielder Nicholas Kabonge and forward Sharif Kimbowa before going ahead to score his own kick to ensure BUL won the title, having seen the game end in goalless in 90 minutes.

The title was BUL FC’s second in their life time after winning the Uganda Cup in 2022.

In an early kick off, Lugogo based KCC FC edged record league champions, SC Villa 3-2 to win the third place.

Whereas winners BUL FC took home shs20 million, second placed URA FC took shs12million and KCCA won shs10 million for the third spot.
