Uganda’s Ghetto Kids steal the show at CAF awards
Ugandan dance group, the Ghetto Kids has continued to excite the world after having yet another marvelous performance at the just concluded CAF awards.
The popular Ugandan dance and music group was invited by the continental football governing body, CAF to perform at the CAF Awards 2023 at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, Morocco and they didn’t disappoint.
With Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen who made headlines in Italy and also for his contribution in the Super Eagles jersey, winning the CAF African Player of the Year for the first time , Uganda’s Ghetto Kids were the icing on the cake on the unforgettable night in Marrakech.
Exciting everybody on the night, the overall winner, Osimhen could not avoid joining the Ugandan dance and music group on the stage as they danced together to climax the event.
“This is a true come true for us as a group. The group feels honoured to perform in front of legendary figures and an audience they usually see on television,” said Dawuda Kavuma, the group’s manager.
Performing at the CAF awards is yet another milestone in the group’s journey , especially in a year where they have grabbed international headlines for their feats.
The Ugandan group had a stellar performance at this year at the Britain’s Got Talent.
They were eliminated at the finals of Britain’s televised talent competition where groups and individuals showcased their talent in various categories on a stage before a panel of judges.
This was after another good performance which saw them set the record when they received the golden buzzer in the middle of a performance, the first time in history this was being done during an act.
The Ugandan Ghetto Kids were recently selected among 40 acts set to the take part in America’s Got Talent’s Fantasy League that will premiere on Monday, January 1, 2024 as the group continues to carry the Ugandan flag high.
