She Cranes star Kadondi joins Nottingham Forest
She Cranes standout player Faridah Kadondi has signed with England’s Nottingham Forest Netball Club ahead of the 2025 Netball Super League season.
Kadondi, who also plays as a goalkeeper joins the English club from Weyonje Netball Club in Makindye, a Kampala suburb.
Speaking about the move, Kadondi expressed happiness, describing the move as a dream come true.
“I have always wanted to play at international level because I believe in my qualities as a player. I promise to work really hard to help my team perform well and win trophies,” she said.
Kadondi becomes the latest She Cranes player to join ranks abroad after Peace Proscovia, Mary Nuba, Stella Oyella and Hanisha Muhameed.
She was an active member of the She Cranes squad that secured an impressive fifth-place finish at the Netball World Cup in South Africa.
She notably shone on the international stage at the 2022 Fast5 World Series, where she was named Player of the Match during Uganda’s clash with powerhouse Australia.
She Cranes coach, Fred Mugerwa said Kadondi’s move to Nottingham Forest will greatly benefit the national netball team.
“I am delighted that Kadondi has been signed by Nottingham Forest Netball Club and I am confident that she has what it takes to perform at the top level, but this also opens more doors for our Ugandan players to be spotted,” Mugerwa said.
