AFCON 2025 qualifiers: Uganda names squad for South Sudan double header
Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Joseph Put has named a squad of 27 players ahead of the double header against South Sudan in the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Uganda will face South Sudan on October, 11, 2025 at Mandela National Stadium while the return leg in Juba will take place on October, 15, 2025.
The team will enter residential camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel on October, 6, 2024.
The coach named the squad for the double header includes 10 Uganda Premier League stars including Gavin Kizitio, Saidi Mayanja, Shafic Kwikiriza, and Derrick Nsibambi (KCCA FC), Denis Omedi and Jude Ssemugabi (Kitara FC), while SC Villa have Arnold Odongo and Ronald Ssekiganda in the squad while Allan Okello comes in for Vipers SC and Nicholas Mwere, BUL FC.
Uganda have four points from the opening two games having drawn 2-2 against South Africa and a 2-0 win at home against Congo.
