She Cranes settles for Bronze to warm hearts at 2025 Vitality Netball Series

The Ugandan national netball team, She Cranes once again warmed hearts on the international scene when it won bronze at this year’s Vitality Netball Series.

During the international netball series hosted and organised by England Netball and played at venues in Nottingham and London, Uganda beat Malawi 50-45 to win the third-place playoff match.

Malawi came out strong in the first quarter of the match, outscoring Uganda 14-11 to take a three-goal lead into the second quarter.

However, Uganda returned a different team after the short break, taking the lead 26-23 by halftime.

They leveled the score at 22-all with 4 minutes and 44 seconds remaining in the second quarter and ultimately took the lead.

Shooter Mary Nuba found her rhythm , giving  Uganda the confidence to push for the win and at the end of the game with  34 goals and only three misses.

Captain Irene Eyaru contributed 16 goals from 16 attempts. Center Margret Baagala made 29 feeds and three intercepts.

Mary Nuba was named as the best player of the match as Uganda won bronze and ended the Vitality Cup Series on a high.

 Hosts, England won the series after beating South Africa 61-55 in the finals at London’s Copper Box Arena.
