Munyonyo proves too small for Mikie Wine
In life, everyone has a history and it is this history that shapes their future.
For Michael Mukwaya, a.k.a Mikie Wine, this “Tusaabale,” was his first ever concert.
Having made a breakthrough in the music industry in 2008 with his ‘Yanimba’ collabo with BET Award winner Eddy Kenzo, Mikie has had a number of hits but despite this, he had never held his own concert.
The Tusaabale concert at the Jahazi Pier in Munyonyo was therefore a do or die moment for the singer.
Considering that on the same date, there was another concert, at Lugogo, the Sulubada singer evoked memories of his fans with a blast at Munyonyo.
By as early as 6pm , fans had started thronging Jahazi Pier and by 9pm, all gates had been closed.
The curtain raisers hit the stage at around 9pm, with Kabako, Dax Vibes, Darx Kartel, Nina Roz and Fik Gaza entertaining the crowd.
The main man of the day would later hit the stage and sang all his songs including Yanimba, Mwali Bana, Guno Omwaka, Empeta, Olunaku Lweluno, Kasonga Katono, Party Time, Tonelaga, Tetukyasoboka, Egaali Ekozeeko, Labisa, Wabulirawa and Juliana among others.
Overwhelmed by the big number of fans who came for the concert, the Sulubada singer took time off his performance to thank them for not disappointing him on a day there were two other concerts in Kampala.
The concert showed that the singer is one of those to reckon with in Uganda’s music industry.
