She Cranes fly out for Vitality Netball Nations Cup
The Uganda national netball team, the She Cranes has left the country for United Kingdom to take part in the Vitality Netball Nations Cup
Uganda was invited alongside top-ranked teams Australia and New Zealand for the competition taking place January 20-28 at Wembley Arena, London, and First Direct Arena, Leeds.
Before that, She Cranes will play three matches against Wales in Cardiff between January 10-13, 2024.
According to the team coach, Fred Mugerwa, this is yet another opportunity to shine on the international scene.
“This is a very good chance for us to go and prove a point against the top world netball playing teams. We are going to cause some shocks and make sure that we get some points that will help us better our world ranking,” Mugerwa said.
The tournament will be played on two weekends of January 20 and 21 at OVO Arena, Wembley before they relocate to First Direct Arena in Leeds for the second weekend of 27 and 28.
She Cranes’ first game will be against England on January 20 before playing New Zealand the following and later Australia on January 27.
