Spain Vs England: Who will win the Euro 2024 trophy

The Euro 2024 tournament ends on July 14 with the finals between Spain and England. It is the second consecutive time England is reaching the Euro finals having lost to Italy in penalties in 2020.

Will England, which has never won the tournament overcome Spain which many say has been the best team in Germany so far?

Youth Blitz spoke to some youth and here are their predictions on what could turn out to be a very entertaining match.

Aisha Namatovu, 21, student

 Spain will win the finals. They play fluid football and are a unit. They don’t have outstanding players like England but they play as a team. When you look at their youngsters like Yamal and Williams, you see that England’s defence will have trouble containing them.

Mercy Atuhaire, 27, beautician

I will also go with Spain. They have been the best team at Euro and have eliminated big teams like France and Germany. But you know finals are always tricky.

Aziz Odongo, 22, boda boda

I think England will win it. They did not play well at the start but somehow it seems God is on their side. If you see how they eliminated Switzerland and Netherlands then you will know that they are a tough time. I see Bukayo Saka and Jude Bellingham shinning at the finals.

Joan Nabuti, 31, businesswoman

Spain will take this one because they have been the strongest team. I like their young players like Yamal who has shown that he can play with the big boys. Rodri has been strong in the midfield. Unless something happens, I don’t see England defeating Spain. England’s luck will run out at the finals.

Micheal Katumba, 29, social worker

The trophy will go to Spain. Spain’s experience in big tournaments will give them the edge. You are going to see England freezing at the finals like they did against Italy. Spain has played well so far and I don’t see how England can stop them.

Peter Inzama, 26, mechanic

England will win it. I can see them shocking Spain on Sunday because they will be the underdogs. So far Spain has been the best team but this is football where anything can happen. I like the way England has grown in confidence in the later stages of the tournament. Harry Kane and group will take this one.

Swaleh Nuwagaba, 25, butcher

I think England will shock everyone and take this tournament. They are a good team now and have many good players. You saw how Watkins came off the bench to score against Netherlands. Spain are the favourites but England can take it.
