Two more Ugandan youngsters join ranks at Spanish club Leganes

Spanish second tier club, CD Leganes Cantera y Escuela has signed two more Ugandan footballers into their ranks.

Left back Abdul-Aziz Kayondo and centre back Allan Enyou were signed by the Leganes, a community of Madrid in Spain.

“A big thank you to Real Monarchs for the love, support, mentorship, and lessons undertook throughout my time in Utah. Wishing the best to the amazing group of people I had chance to work with, am super excited for the new journey at CD Leganes Cantera y Escuela,”Kayondo who was signed from Real Monarchs in the United States of America tweeted.

The duo joins another Ugandan footballer, Ibrahim Juma who had earlier joined and currently features for CD Leganes B.

Other Ugandans for trials

In the same vein, two other Ugandan footballers including Kampala Capital City Authority FC goalkeeper Ali Ramathan Mwirusi and Uganda Revenue Authority FC defender Simon Baligeya have left Uganda for Spain ahead of a month-long trial spell.

The duo will have trials at Spanish fifth division side, Villajoyosa Sports Club.

Spanish, Portuguese and French clubs have in the recent years shown interest in Ugandan stars going for trials with hope of joining their ranks.

On the other side, a number of Ugandan youngsters are plying their trade in the Major League Soccer, Denmark, Israel and many other countries in the UEFA area.
