Uganda Hippos player flies out to seal move to Italian side
A Uganda Hippos player who also features for Uganda Premier League side, Wakiso Giants has flown out of the country to Italy to seal a move to one of the country’s football clubs.
Ronald Madoi early this week flew out of the country to join Italian outfit Suzzara Sports Club where he is expected to sign a two-year contract.
The Uganda U20 national team player has previously played for St Mary’s Secondary School, Kitende, that he helped clinch the 2023 National Schools Football Championship after St. Henry’s Kitovu in the finals.
Madoi has played at different ranks for the national team including the U17 and U20, and was part of Uganda’s team that won the 2017 U17 CECAFA Championship.
He also helped the Uganda U2O team win the 2022 CECAFA trophy in Sudan but also qualified for the Egypt Africa Cup of Nations and got eliminated in the quarterfinal stage by Nigeria.
He has also played for Wakiso Giants Junior team and Divine Soccer Academy.
At Suzzara, Madoi will join fellow Ugandans in former Arua Hill SC forward Ronald Innocent Media and Oscar Mawa who previously played for Sports Club Villa.
