Eddy Kenzo named African male artiste of 2022
Ugandan singer, Edrisa Musuuza, known as Eddie Kenzo has been named as the African male artist of 2022 at the African Entertainment Awards, in the United States of America.
According to the organizers, the awards are designed to celebrate and uplift African entertainment and to showcase Africa that is united, self-sufficient, and willing.
During the third edition of the awards, Kenzo beat several other male artistes from Africa to the gong.
“What a beautiful way to end 2022 and start 2023.We thank the organizers for the recognition,” Kenzo tweeted.
The award comes a few months after Kenzo was nominated for this year’s prestigious Grammy Awards.
The Ugandan singer was nominated for his Gimme Love, a song in which he featured with American singer, Matt B, under the category of the best global music performance.
The awards will be held on February 5, 2023 in Los Angeles.
Previously, Kenzo became the first East African artiste to win the Black Entertainment Television (BET) award after taking the Viewer’s Choice Best New International Artiste’ accolade at a function held in Los Angeles, US.
The singer has also hoisted the Ugandan flag on various global platforms because of his music.
